Big day, today. Teemu Selanne scored his 600th career NHL goal. Oh, and the US congress passed a healthcare reform bill.
To be honest, I can’t believe that this whole sorry mess is even happening. In 2010 the US has moved one small step nearer to what most industrialized nations have been doing for years: providing healthcare for all its people.
Are you people for real? In the UK there has been universal free-at-the-the-point-of-delivery healthcare since 1948. Let me say that again. Since 1948.
The world still turns on its axis, the UK still functions and has electricity and cars and shit.
Ok, the UK’s NHS isn’t the best in the world, but it’s better on many accepted measures of health than the US.
Welcome to the 20th century, America. You might find you like it.

All they need now is to sort out Vacation time in the USA. make it at least 20-25 days standard for all full time employees so we can have some kind of normal life.
Land of the Free and Home of the Workaholics.
I forgot about vacation time! It’s not like the US actually makes anything these days, so a bit more time-off wouldn’t hurt, surely?
I lived in Korea and UK, and now I am liven in the USA. Comparing this three countries, I’d say medical service must be free, so doctor can think about the patients’ health first than how much money they can get from their patient.
I’ve seen many doctors doing something too much on their patients for their own good.
