Dott is cleared for take-off

It’s really starting to feel real now as we rest after a hard pre-movers’ day.

We’ve been at it in one form or another all day, including another trip to the vet today for Baby D. Mostly today it’s been moving our belongings around the house into the right place for the movers to wrap and pack. It has turned up the odd surprise (“THAT’s where it got to..”) but mostly a lot of dust (note to self: vacuum more often).

Lunchtime saw a break as we took Dott to the vet. Here she was given her second going-over within a week in order for the vet to testify that she was fit to fly. This trip, however, involved the obligatory temperature test. To her credit, Dott didn’t flinch as the probe was inserted. She took it in her stride (or rather she took as Jenn pinned her to the examination table). I caught Dott’s eye. I’d been medically humiliated a few weeks back (although blessedly nothing involved inserting foreign bodies into my fundamental orifice).

As well as packing, we did the finishing touches to my visa interview documentation. I’m happy with it all and will no doubt check and re-check it all before we head down on Monday ready for Tuesday’s interview.
