… I’m sure there’s a song in there somewhere.
The Big Move took a big step forward today. Jennifer, Dott the California Kitty and I are booked to go.
We had a ‘team meeting’ last night in which we went over all of the tasks required to complete the move. As you can imagine this is a fairly substantial list and I’ll be addressing those aspects in future posts.
However, we have decided that one of the most important decisions is when to actually leave. There is some pressure on us with this because Jennifer’s visa expires on 6 June. She then either has to leave the country or extend it at considerable cost. Well, not much point extending it because we’re outta here. Leaving it is, then.
Therefore today Jennifer booked her and Dott’s flight for 4 June. Dott isn’t best pleased about the flight but she’s happy to be going back to the warmth and comfort of California. In this current cold snap we find her sitting on the radiator warming her paws. I kid ye not. Poor little lamb (cat).
Not to be out done by the girls, I have also booked. We’re going to leave plenty of wiggle-room for me in case of difficulties with our extensive to-do list (including the visa!), so I’m booked for Wednesday 8 July. If we’re lucky and everything’s done and dusted before then, I shall just enjoy the remaining time hanging out with friends and family.
I have to say that booking a one-way flight was rather disconcerting. Suddenly the realisation dawned on me that I was leaving and would be staying Stateside for more than just a couple of weeks.
Crikey.

Does anyone else respond to these?
