Probably worth of a mention is the fact that in about an hour I’m heading to the local hospital to have a niggle-some wisdom tooth removed.
It’s rather odd because I feel less nervous than I do going for a normal check-up at the dentist. Not sure how long that will last, though. The clock ticks on.
Anyhoo, the tooth is not particularly painful but it’s misbehaving and is a bugger to keep clean: it sort of leans against the next tooth along and creates a pocket that captures what I eat. You probably don’t need to know this.
So, the devil is coming out. I haven’t had a tooth pulled since I was about 10 years old, so hopefully I’m going to be a good boy and not cry. If I’m really good then I may get a sticker or lolly or something.
Anyway, this all comes in preparation of moving to the USA. As while we will have health insurance, we’ll still probably have to ‘co-pay’ for any treatment we receive (bit like excess on car insurance). I’ll rather get this little blighter sorted here where it’s free than have to negotiate the US healthcare systems. Hmm, may get a hip replacement done as well “just in case”. It’d be a good precaution.

Hip replacement Just in CASE!!
